Background to GDPR

European Parliament Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) has worked out a new set of rules for data protection, GDPR. GDPR will be effective from the 25th of May 2018, and will apply to all countries in Europe. These new rules replace the 1995 directives and is an addition to basic rights duties in national laws such as patient privacy laws and legislation on public cameras.

To get a good insight on where your organization stands, you can do the self-assessment on ICO’s website.

If you would like to know even more, we can help you with suggestions for improvement or give a presentation on GDPR and its consequences.
